Why may you ask? We have just installed a backup generator here at the studio for all power outages. The price we have paid for having the studio in such a scenic, but elevated location, is the harsh winters. Well, now we have eliminated the last inconvenience. We've added even more depth to our gear list with (2) SSL mix bus compressors. Plenty of great artists have been coming through. We are very excited about mixing the new Bek Phillips record. Its a great pop record bringing the fun of the 80's back with some modern 2000's tones and colors. This Time Down started tracking a 5 song, Pristina recorded and mixed another 4 tunes to go with their epic 23min single song EP recorded earlier this year, MC Ave has been in to put vocals to his productions and mix, Twin Berlin we back and hammered out 2 songs in one day (mixing included!), Arms Against A Sea mastered their latest record here, Armor And Rage brought the cock rock for a 4 song, Black Water Blessing came in to put the finishing touches on their mix, Alex Taylor came in to track a song, and Half Shaved Yak started a new recording. Thats about it folks! Hope everyone is having a great winter and if your coming up to EastLake we're looking forward to seeing you :-). |

I love fall around here. I love the feeling of getting ready for winter, and enjoying the last days of grass and leaves. Speaking of getting ready for winter, we have been going crazy down at the studio. First off we have added some awesome new gear. We have an addition of two more UA 1176's, TAB Funkenwerk V72's, TAB modded Geffel vocal mic and last but not least a Manley Variable Mu. If you know gear, i need not say more - but if you are in the dark on these fine pieces, then let me say we've almost doubled our super-high-end outboard collection. And this vocal mic you will need to hear to believe. Next on our fall plate was getting the studio itself ready for winter. As anyone who has been to the studio durring winter you know our hall and bathroom area was almost as cold as outside :-(. Not this year!!! We have all but finished construction on the studio (a short 5 years later mind you). We know the spider webs and freezing cold were part of the charm, but we had to do this! Im really looking forward to a toasty warm, new gear'd, awesome bands winter. In fact, to celebrate, contact me for a web only deal. Yes, its been a while! I had a nicely worded update all ready to post, and my computer froze.. ahhhh! I will give a rough summery of the latest around here. We've recently finished up mixing on Columbia Fields new record. They plan on releasing it soon (Aug 28th?). August Is Over came in for a quick demo. Eastlake's own Gabe Mcfarland and Bound To Stand have been hashing out some tunes. Cameron Audet put the finishing touches on his acoustic record. Disquite came in to mix one song. Sleep Well added 5 more tunes to complete thier LP due out soon. Bek has been back in for some writting sessions. Twin Berlin came in to cut a track. Right now we have Goodbye Fate in for an EP. In other news Enoch has been working along side Pierre De Beauport on a variety of projects including Toots (and the Maytals), Ghost Gamblers, Keith Richards, Fear Nuttin Band, and more!!! I suppose this will be the update for now :-/ .. Not a fun read, but its the latest :-). |
