Here is a list of some of the most Frequently-Asked-Questions:

Q: How much does a day/hour cost?

A: Our rates are published on our RATES page

Q: What times/dates do you have available?

A: Our availability varies. In any given month we usually have weekdays available. Weekends tend to go quicker for obvious reasons. We ALWAYS try to work with people to get the dates they need.

Q: What time does the session start, and end?

A: We can start the session whenever your schedule allows. Typically we start between 10am and noon. Other clients need different start times and that is fine. When you book a session we will work out start times at that point. The session ends 8 hours (day rate) or running time hourly after your SCHEDULED start time. Be prepared to show up on-time and make the most of your studio time :-)!

Q: What should we bring with us?

A: As far as bands go, bring anything you would typically bring to a gig. In some cases we use studio gear for tracking, but make sure you bring the gear you use on a daily basis. There are many tricks to make the tone better down the road, so being comfortable on your own gear can really make a difference in performance.

Q: Does the rate include an engineer?

A: YES! The rates at EastLake will always include an engineer. If you have a specific engineer you would like to work with, please specify at the time you book the session. In some cases if you require a specific engineer you may have other fees.

Q: Can we bring in our own engineering/producing team?

A: Yes. EastLake will furnish an assistant engineer to help with the idiosyncrasies of our studio to make the process smooth for outside production professionals.

Q: Do you charge extra for mixing?

A: Mixing is billed the same as tracking - by the physical time it takes. If you require a specific mix engineer there may be an extra charge.

Q: Do you do mastering? and how much do you charge?

A: While we don't consider EastLake a formal mastering house, we can do a decent job mastering projects. 90% of EastLake clients end up mastering through our mixing process. If you mix here at EastLake we normally apply some type of mastering during the mix, unless you specifically tell us you will be using another mastering facility. If you are coming specifically to master then you can find our rates on mastering at our RATES page.

Q: I want to master at another mastering house, can you recommend someone?

A: YES. We work with the best mastering engineers in the world. These guys have mastered projects in your music collection guaranteed. Depending on your budget, we will send you in the right direction.

Q: Is there a place we can stay at the studio, overnight?

A: We tried that some years ago, and wont be going down that road again! :-). The policy here at EastLake is: "When the session is over, we all go home and the doors are locked." That being said, we have a large camping area overlooking the studio that some bands have used. You will have to speak with us before your session to verify the availability of camping. There is no bathrooms or showers at our campsite.

Q: Are there Hotels in your area?

A: Yes, we have plenty of lodging just a few miles down the road (5 min drive) in Greenfield MA 01301.
